Helmsley is a small market town that is very popular with both local people and visitors alike when it comes to eating out. Most of the hotels and local pubs provide a menu of cooked meals. There is also an Italian restaurant, Fish N Chips, plus several cafes, an award winning ice cream parlour and a great delicatessen - offering hand made pastries, cheeses, meats & sandwiches too.
Gepetto's Restaurant - A very popular Italian restaurant serving home made pasta and pizza.
Hunters of Helmsley - Delicatessen that also sells hampers and gourmet foods.
The Royal Oak - Right in the centre of the town of Helmsley, you can’t miss The Royal Oak. A friendly local pub offering above average quality pub food.
The Star Inn - Just a short drive from Helmsley to the pretty village of Harome, you’ll find the Star Inn. A proper little pub serving what is reputedly the best food around. Andrew Pern (owner and chef) has won several Michelin Stars over the years and in 2006 also won the Egon Ronay Gastropub of the Year. The food is exquisite, if you wish to use the restaurant - you’ll need to book well in advance, although you can order from the bar and eat the same food as a bar meal.
